I believe it was around last December when I talked a good group of people to do the Seattle Rock N' Roll 1/2 Marathon with me. About 6 of us registered and yesterday 4 of us crossed the finished line. Through the months leading to this date, I lost 1 to a wedding and 1 to a trip to Mexico. I almost lost 2 to a lack of training, but all in all the final 4 did great. I am very proud of Lisa and Becki for following through on their commitment. Even though, in the final hours they needed words of encouragement to wake up the next day to get to the start because they didn't think they could do it. However, they proved themselves wrong (and a couple others) and rocked it! I am most proud of my mom. Turning 60 this summer didn't inhibit her from taking this challenge. It was fun to complete the 13.1 miles with her by my side. I hope that when I turn 60 I am still able to participate in these races like her!
At Quest Field getting our packets.
This was the biggest race I have EVER done, 30,000 people.
I am still out for debate if I liked it or not. It was like herding cows.
I warned Lisa and Becki about the bathroom situation. But no race is complete without the port-o-potty break.
My mom at mile 11. Looking just as good as she did at mile 1.
At the finish line.
Showing off our medals.

We are too close to the end for her to be calling in sick. But maxing out with a 103.5 temp, buckets full of snot and losing a couple stars of spiciness will do that to you. Thank goodness Grandma came to the rescue and helped nurtured Amelia back to health (you too Daddy). Now lets keep our fingers crossed we can make it to the 17th!!!!
