Flashback Friday

In August for my mom's 60th birthday present I promised her that I would scan our families old pictures to preserve them. 300+ pictures later and a cool book delivered, I am finally done.

Because of the fact that once something in posted onto the World Wide Web it is there FOREVER, I thought I would share a couple of my favorites to preserve for posterity.

Just don't laugh at how my bangs start at the back of my head.

Big Mouth!

Leave it to Amelia to let the cat out of the bag.

Pumpkins...part III

I think we may be taking this whole pumpkin patch thing a little to far...or not. Saturday we ventured back down to Snohomish to meet friends for pumpkin festivities, trick-or-treating, and watching the Cougs.
Looking for the great pumpkin.

Not too small, not too large...

I think we found it.
Wait!   Here are more.
Leave it to mom to find the pumpkin pie.

Tis the season...for PUMPKINS!

Over the weekend, Amelia and I went to two pumpkin patches.

Saturday we discovered a Whatcom County patch that will now have to become a traditional visit, Stoney Ridge Farms.  Grandpa and Grandma joined us, making it even more fun.
Sunday, my sister called and said their friends couldn't join them at their annual patch visit and the Groupon that she had would cover 6.  We were in.  Again, we had great weather and Amelia enjoyed herself.  Especially using the pumpkins as seats and chasing cousin Macie around.

10-10-10

I read in the New York Times that over 39,000 couples got married on 10-10-10.  Some thought the date would bring good luck, others just wanted a date that would be pretty hard to forget when anniversaries rolled around each year.   My brother (who is 11 months younger than me to the day) was one of those people who tied the knot.

Derek was always one of those free spirits, wild child or better yet, known as the baby of the family.  One of my favorite stories about him was once in high school I got invited to my own house for a party he was holding.  Little did I know that Derek was even having a party, and little did the invitee know was that he was related to me. This just shows the two different paths we had for a while. So him meeting a nice girl, falling in love and getting married was something we all were not holding our breaths on.

Since Kaitlin has been in Derek's life, there seems to be a calm.  He now lives for others and not where the fun is.  Most importantly, he know has a better understanding of family.  It was so great to have Amelia and me (even though I could have killed Amelia at a couple points because she was so crazy) be a part of 10-10-10.

Having such a crazy child with me, I did not get ANY pictures.  Once I steal some from other family members I promise to post some of Flower Girl Amelia :).

Campbell Elizabeth

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my new niece, Campbell Elizabeth.  She arrived two weeks early after a dramatic entrance, but she and mom are home now and doing great.
Born 9/26/10. 7lbs 2 oz.

Can't wait to meet you little girl.  Amelia is going to love having you to boss around.

Leavenworth Oktoberfest Marathon Relay

After last year, I decided I had to go back for this event.  However, there was no way I was going to redo 26.2 miles, so Ms. Rask put a relay team together that she let me join.  6 of us split the miles, ended with smiles, and headed to the festivities that night.  I have already decided to make this an annual tradition.

Team Rask
Like last year, we camped.  But this year we did it in style at the KOA.  We also brought Amelia for her first outdoor sleeping experience.  The KOA was awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone.  Now any trip on Highway 2 will involve a stay there.  Amelia also did great despite the late, loud nights.   She has discovered polka music and was a dancing queen.
