Snow Day!

With the snowy weather, Wade and I like to get out the camera and capture the "moments" with pictures. This year being such a large snow we decided to walk to Lake Padden with our favorite model Tracker (I think we have these photos from his previous 3 winters). He did a great job and we got some good pictures. I think one just might be a framer :).
This is my favorite one. He looks like he is enjoying the beauty of the lake.
Wade likes this one due to the lighting. He also has his favorite toy, the tennis ball. It was so cold it froze into a tennis ice cube.
Tracker and the Big Girl. He kept having to sit down and pick the ice out of his feet. It kept balling up on him on our walk. Probably didn't help that he was running and rolling in every snow drift he could find.

To name or not to name...

Before Wade and I were even married, we came up with the deal that if we ever had boys he got to name them and if we ever had girls I got to name them. With time clicking down fast I am really starting to feel the pressure of the name game! While Wade already has his boy name ready (he has actually had it for a couple years now) and it has meaning to him, I am clueless for a girl name. I have had about three I have been juggling with, but after internet research and reading articles my list is now at nine names.

This week parenting magazine came out with the top 50 names of 2008. While I don't want a common name, there are some there that I was reminded that I liked. I especially like the trend of boy names being used for girl names. At this point that is one thing I am leaning towards. Wade likes it too.

I am not sure if this name game puzzle is because we don't know the gender of Baby K. Sometimes I wish I did so I would have to commit. Lately, I have been feeling the jealousy of people who just know. My sister being one of them. Shelby is a family name and Macie just came to her during an ultrasound. Why can't that happen with Baby K. So...as of now I am asking for suggestions and help. We have debated about putting the naming rights on EBay or starting a friend/family pole. We aren't there yet, but you never know...

Baby K gets a room.

Last night Wade put together the new crib we bought over the weekend. We also got the rest of the room organized. I have to say I am happy with the way it turned out. It looks like it is going to be a perfect fit for a girl or boy. Wade is also still able to have his office space to work. All that is left to do is a few finishing touches here and there and to fill the dresser drawers full of clothes and such for when Baby K arrives!
My mom, sister and I got the bedding and the theme from Pottery Barn Kids. I saw the Lambs in the catalog and had to have them! When we went to the store to see them in person it was all on sale! It was meant to be.
My dad came a spent a weekend and painted the room yellow. I then painted the five sheep on the walls. The colors are yellow, white and black with the sheep.

8 months (32 weeks)

On Friday I had my 8 month appointment with Dr. Mora. From this point I will start going to BOGA every two weeks. I also signed Wade and I up for our "birthing" class in Jan. During the appointment everything looked good. Baby K had a great heartbeat, I am maintaining a good weight, and tests are coming back good. When talking to Dr. Mora he was asking about my work plans and Wade. I told him that I am planning on working until the 6th, even though I am due the 8th. He said that should be no problem because I am measuring a week behind and will most likely be a week or more late. UGG! Looking at it from this point Baby K may be a Valentine's baby. I am not sure if this is a pro or a con. It also looks like an upcoming trip to Russia for Wade will also not be an issue. I was hoping Baby K would come on the 8th or that week. But, I guess preparing to be late will help me if it does come.

For last couple of weeks of being pregnant it has really started to feel real. Baby K seems to be running out of room and every movement is felt. Every once in a while I will get a sharp jab of an elbow/knee or feel the constant bump, bump of hick-ups. I am also starting to not "feel" great and sleep is getting harder. I had a pretty easy 1st trimester with hardly any sickness. My 2nd trimester was great with a new found energy that sometimes I forgot I was pregnant. So, this 3rd trimester seems to be the hardest. However, it will all be worth it in the end. Let's just say I am looking forward to 2 weeks off of work for the holidays!


32 weeks. Wade took this picture to send to our friend C-train. He wanted to show him how the mutating is going. I am wearing a shirt from the Jingle Bell Dash we did on Saturday. I ordered a medium for future use. As you can tell it is a little snug right now. I am in a clothes rut and feel I am running out of options. I have started to look at Wade's clothes with new eyes!

College Friend Shower

On December 7, 2008, my dear friends Katie and Anna threw me a baby shower at Anna's on Camano Island. It was great to have friends who have known me and Wade in our college years at WSU (Go Cougs!) help us celebrate this next step in our lives. Anna and Katie made some wonderful food, had awesome games (in which I won two out of the three, but let others take the prizes) and were the hostest with the mostest.

I know Baby K will be blessed to have the people in its lives that I do. Wade and I are very lucky to still have such great friends from those years. I am very excited to have him/her grow up with their kids and share that COUGAR PRIDE!!

BaBee Shower

Sunday, November 30th, 2008, My mom, RJ and Megan threw me a baby shower for family and close family friends. The theme was BaBee Koning and boy did they go all out with the details. It had bee things everywhere: from cupcakes to honey roasted peanuts. Kyle even made special napkins for the event.

It was great to celebrate the upcoming birth with people who have known me most of my live (some since I was born) and some I have know most of thier lives. I can't thank my Aunt Shelby and Godmother Robin enough for making the flight to Kirkland. Shelby and Macie were as cute as can be(e) and are already showing they are going to be perfect cousins. I received many needed and thoughtful gifts (Cougar gear included!).

It will be a memory I will have forever!! I know a lot of work was put into making this event possible. I feel blessed to have people in my life who care about making this time a special one. Only 10 weeks left until Baby K is here!
