"30 is the new 20" - Jay-Z

This week we had the pleasure of helping two friends join the world of the 30s. Saturday we headed to the Gorge for the Tom Petty concert with BBow and Tuesday we had an awesome dinner cruise around Bellingham Bay for J-Bird. The weather was perfect on both occasions which created a some perfect opportunities for a photo session or two. Also, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANNA! I wish I could have been in Vegas with you to help you celebrate. Love you tons!!

Wade and Jake did it again.

They completed the Moses Lake Triathlon.

Ski to Sea 2010

Another notch can be added to my Ski to Sea belt. It was a long day, but the team was able to weather through it and had a good showing. I may not be able to walk today, but it is worth the pain to be part of such an event in Bellingham. Hey, it was featured in USA Today. The team skied (cross country and downhill), ran, biked, canoed, maintained biked and kayaked from Mt. Baker to the Bellingham Bay.

The day started at 5am, because the road to the mountain closed at 7am.

It was great to have the company of my other team members while I waited for my run.

This year we had some friendly competition: Rask. She formed a team after supporting us last year. Look at that stud, WadeO.
A couple the sweats together, stays together. During the race there is a huge festival in Fairhaven at the finish line. We headed down there to get a couple beers from the beer-garden, say hello to some friends, and eat a hot dog while we waited for our kayaker to come in. Wade really wanted Amelia to go into the jumpy house. I thought she may be too little, but she proved me wrong. She held her own and was VERY sad when it was time to get out. A huge thanks to my parents for coming up and spending the day with her. We couldn't have participated without you.
Some of "Wasted Talent" at the end Please notice that I am mom of the year in this picture. Earlier Amelia got her pants wet and dirty. Due to a misunderstanding, no clean clothes were packed. She became a flasher by wearing only her raincoat and diaper (yes...in the rainy weather).

Sick Days

So close to freedom! Only 15 more mornings to wake up to an alarm, 2 more dreaded Mondays to get through and 14 early bed times before Amelia and I can enjoy summer together. So how in the world did Little Miss get hit with a sickness? Daycare, I curse you!!We are too close to the end for her to be calling in sick. But maxing out with a 103.5 temp, buckets full of snot and losing a couple stars of spiciness will do that to you. Thank goodness Grandma came to the rescue and helped nurtured Amelia back to health (you too Daddy). Now lets keep our fingers crossed we can make it to the 17th!!!!

Princess Mae Mae

It is picture day morning and ReBecca tells Macie to find something nice to wear. Little did she know that Princess Mae Mae would make her appearance; crown, gown, wand and even the shoes. Needless to say....she was the only one dressed up that day.

Mother's Day (Late)

I think I can say that this Mother's Day had more meaning to me then the last. Yes last year was my first Mother's Day, but Amelia was just a newborn and I didn't really know what it meant to be a mother. Now (with a over a year under my belt) I have gained an appreciation for the word "mother". It is the hardest, best, most rewarding, under appreciated job there is. I have a whole new respect for ALL the mothers in the world, especially my own (she had to put up with me).

To celebrate this day we kept it pretty low key. Saturday, Amelia and I headed south for a baby shower celebrating Baby Stella coming on the 25th, a picnic with the family, and Becki's birthday party with friends. Sunday started with brunch with the Konings, a long run and fun in the sun (My sister let me steal Little Tike toys from her backyard. Amelia thought it was Amelia Day!!).
