Geography Lesson

Wade gets to travel all over the world with work. On these trips he buys Amelia and me souvenirs. Recently he has been finding outfits from some of the countries he is visiting for Amelia. I think it is so fun to have these for her to wear now and save for the future. So here is your test....can you name the country each outfit is from??

A) Hint: This outfit is good for HOT days and a visit

to the beach in this Southeast Asian country. B) Hint: Hola, ¿Cómo estás? C) Hint: No it is not China, but they do have the world's largest

ferris wheel and it is probably one of the cleanest countries in the world. C)Hint: You may find a couple restaurants in your neighborhood

Ski Bunny @ 14 months!!!!!

I always said that once my kids could walk I would put them onto skies. Well, Amelia can walk so that is just what Wade and I did today. The boots were to big, the skies were way taller than needed, and we didn't have any gloves, but nature gave us a blue bird day and none of that mattered. We stuck to the rope tow and Amelia seemed to enjoy her first day on the slopes. Today made me more exited for next season when I plan to get her onto a lift and future family ski trips:).

I used to teach little kids skiing when I was in high school.
Therefore I knew the ski wedges would be clutch. They kept the tips together perfectly. Wade couldn't stand watching me have all the fun He had to jump in to have a turn.

A Sock Trick...

Once again I am convinced Amelia is gifted (or maybe just likes things clean). Wade would like her next trick to be able to run to the fridge and get him a beer. Tracker never was able to learn that one.

Spring Break

Of course I went into education to touch a life, educate our future, yadda, yadda, yadda... But, I have to admit one of its biggest draws for me is the academic schedule. I LOVE my breaks: Summer, Winter, Spring, and National Holidays. This past week I had Spring Break! Instead of heading to Vegas for drinks by the yard or somewhere hot with margaritas on a sandy beach, I opted for a staycation. It was great. Wade also took some time off and we got some much needed family bonding time and work done around the house. Wade and I also got a day at Mt. Baker and enjoyed powder in April !?

Amelia is jumping from a toddler to a teen. Forget toys, she wants a Blackberry.

To anyone who skis/snowboards, you know that this year has been no good in the snow department. Leave it to the last month of the season for it to be hit hard with powder. Lets keep our fingers crossed that Wade and I can make it up one last time before the mountain shuts down.

Only 48 work days until SUMMER vacation (and yes, I am counting)!!!!

Easter

Wade was out of town until Sunday night, so Amelia and I headed to my parents for the weekend and Easter. We had a relaxing weekend with my family and towards the end of Sunday Amelia started to get the whole Easter Basket concept and egg hunt (we had a couple practice runs in the meantime). Being the bad picture taker that I am, I handed the camera over to my nieces. To my surprise and everyone else, they did a good job of capturing the day.

March Madness

No, I am not talking about college basketball when I refer to "March Madness". I am referring to life. March has been pretty "mad" (as in crazy) and has left me to neglect my blog and other "extra curricular" activities. Well, I am starting to take the steps back to sanity and decided it was time to do a post. Even though March was crazy busy with work, sicknesses (please note the plural. We have had it ALL. Amelia's new nickname is "petri dish" and no one wants us around), and Wade traveling, we have manage to have some highlights. I am going to focus on those:

I call this picture AWESOME DAD/BAD MOM. After a week of Wade playing Doctor and nursing Amelia back to health, I take off for a girls night with these two hooligans. We had a GREAT time exploring Friday Harbor and all there is to eat and drink.

Wade went to Africa and Amelia and I went to Kirkland. We had a great time spending our weekend with family and the cousins. I love the matching PJs my Aunt Kathy sent them all!

I told you to mark you calendars and I am glad some of you did. Poor Man's Whiskey did it again with yet another good show. It was funny, I walked in and there was all these "old" people. I turned to my sister and asked "What's up?" Her reply, "Mom did some good recruiting :)". Don't worry, once the band got going the age limit got lower.

Saturday, March 20th, at 8:30pm, my cousin and his band, Poor Man's Whiskey, are coming to Seattle. Ballard to be exact. They will be playing at the Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) after hitting up Oregon. So, if you are looking for a good time, want to hear a new band, or just hang with me and some cool people this is the place to be. Not to brag too much, but they are pretty good.
