9 months sure flies by...

What a relief it was to go into a Wellness appointment and have no shots!! I was hoping to at least have Amelia get the H1N1, but of course there is no vaccination to be gotten. So, I will try to pursue the open clinics and keep my fingers crossed that I can get her at least that. After that, no shots until she is one. I cannot believe she is already this OLD! Amelia was charted at 75% for weight (19 lbs) and height (28.25 in) and 90% for head (18 in). Looks like she is carrying some big brains. This explains all the new things she has been learning and doing. One of Amelia's favorite things to do is stand on furniture and walk around it. She gets better and better everyday and the amount of bruises are decreasing. Her big brains have also been getting some good rest with her sleeping through the night. She goes to bed around 6:30 and wakes up around 6:30, sometimes waking once early morning. At times we have been able to let her sleep in and she will sleep for an extra hour. Mom and dad love this, especially on the weekends! Another thing that Amelia's big brains helps her with is her constant chatter. Dada still in the king of words, but she is also experimenting with other sounds. I have heard nananan and what I hope was mamama. She also loves "Ohh" when she sees something of interest, especially food! We have moved to table food and she has liked everything. We have also had to moved her to
soy based formula because of pooping way to much. The soy stinks bad, but she seems happier on it. I am looking forward to moving her to real milk and not spending a small fortune on formula.
3 more months until we celebrate the big 0-1. Again, this is going way to fast. Wade and I couldn't be happier with the little girl we have.

Champagne taste on a beer budget.

I will be the first to admit that I am cheap, BUT I do like nice things. So when I come across a good deal I get very excited. This happened to me over the weekend thanks to my good friend Anna. A while ago she sent me a link to a baby blog that had great deals. I forgot about it until it was time to purchase yet another big ticket item, the car seat. I spent the weekend looking at chain stores and baby boutiques for the seat I wanted. I then remembered this site and decided to hold off and see what they had. And guess what? The same seat I wanted but $100 dollars cheaper. So here is to mommy networking and being cheap. I thought I would pass it on...

I ordered the Britax Boulevard CS from TravelTike.com. It was on sale for even cheaper!! I just LOVE the cow print. Crazy enough for my crazy kid.


Also, Tiff looked at Consumer Report and this seat got its highest rating. Thank you Tiff for doing the research. Runner up...Cosco for only $60! I may be getting this one for Wade's car.

First Halloween

For Halloween, we went to our friends Jake and Sarah's house. They live in one of those neighborhoods that is a trick-or-treaters dream. There were tons of goblins and princesses roaming the streets and it felt just like when I was a kid. Sarah's two neices, Maddy and Payton, showed Carson and Amelia how to go door to door. Payton was so cute because all she wanted to do was "just push the baby stroller". Both girls were also very nice in making sure each baby got candy too (which meant candy for mom and dad)!

Run Becca, Run!

I have been trying to get my family to run races with me for years. So, when my sister said she wanted to run a half marathon, I was VERY excited. I am very proud that even though she may want to quit at times she has kept it up. Today she ran her first 10k in preparation for the Seattle Half in November. I was also registered to run it with her, but throwing up the whole night before changed those plans fast. I instead became moral support. She, Carrie and Wade did AWESOME. I think running may run in our genes. Carrie, RJ and Wade before the race started.

Little Pumpkins

On Saturday, we met the Gibsons (and clan) and the Koehlers in Mt. Vernon to get some pumpkins at Gordon's Pumpkin Patch. The weather held out for us to enjoy our surrounding and find Amelia her first pumpkin. The one bummer was mom was not feeling well and cut the trip a little short. Turns out she had a stomach bug. First of the school year. Yuck!! However, we were able to get some great pictures in the meantime...

I brought all the kids hats that my mother-in-law's knitting group were selling. Carson and Amelia have matching pumpkins, while Lilah and Geargia had red and green apples.

Dog Food

I don't know what it is about babies putting EVERYTHING into their mouths. I am finding that I am chasing Amelia around removing who knows what from hers. Lately, it has been dog food. Yes, dog food. As soon as she is set onto the floor she makes a B-line for it. The first time she did this Wade thought it would be funny to see what would happened. And guess what? A hand full of kibbles straight to the mouth. I actually think she likes it. She has learned fast what "no" means, which makes it easier for stopping her temptation. However, I think Tracker will be eating in the garage soon.
